Musical evening held to celebrate Pakistan Day

Popular singers from across the country mesmerized audience of the twin cities at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in a musical evening in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations.

The vocalists included Saira Nasim, Fazal Jaat and Nadeem Abbas Loonay Wala who presented national songs and other popular melodies to entertain the audience while folk dances were presented by the National Performing Arts Group in vibrant costumes and traditional props.A large number of people attended the show.

“Artistes and musicians have a unique identity in cultural mainstream of the nation and these artistes from various parts of the country are promoted regularly through various programmes of PNCA including musical evenings, culture shows, exhibitions and travelling shows,” said an official of PNCA.

Attiring traditional costumes the musicians and folk dancers presented national songs and other melodies to mesmerize the audience as well as highlight the rich cultural heritage of the country.

The event was arranged by PNCA in collaboration with Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.

The musical show also provided a national level platform to the singers to show their skills through their performances.

The audience termed the show an opportunity to enjoy the melodies and traditional songs in a live concert by these established artistes while the show gave a message of peace, love and harmony through combining expressions of the traditional musical heritage of the subcontinent.
