LAHORE – The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association has named Aleem Dar as the PVCA Ambassador for poor people’s needs.
PVCA Chief Executive Officer Ashiq Hussain Qureshi emphasised that effective long-term planning is needed to develop sports at the grass-roots level.
Ashiq is also the chairman of P&T Gymkhana, and he thanked Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Imran Khan to grace the occasion of crowning of Aleem Dar as chief guest. PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt, Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Qadir, and Rameez Raja were also present on the occasion. The occasion also saw Ashiq Qureshi announcing Aleem Dar as PVCA’s ambassador in the partnership with Akhuwat, which was established in 2001 with the objective of providing interest free micro-credit to the poor so as to enhance their standard of living. “Our vision is a poverty free society built on the principles of compassion and equity. And our mission is to alleviate poverty by empowering socially and economically marginalised families through interest-free microfinance and by harnessing entrepreneurial potential, capacity building and social guidance. We will use the PVCA platform through Aleem Dar to perform our goal on the sidelines of cricket matches.”
