Alia Bhatt seems to be getting screen time with one Bollywood hunk after another. Now Indian filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has roped in theKapoor & Sons star to act alongside Ranveer Singh for her next project.
According to Pinkvilla, Alia had met Zoya early last year for a possible collaboration, but at the time the filmmaker didn’t have an appropriate role for her.
But things have changed as Zoya is coming up with an intense romantic drama and has got Ranveer’s approval for the film, reports IBT. She is waiting for Alia’s dates as the actress is currently busy filming with Shah Rukh Khan for Gauri Shinde’s upcoming film.
After collaborating in Dil Dhadakne Do, Ranveer and Zoya have been great friends. In fact, a few weeks ago, Ranveer was spotted leaving Zoya’s house after having dinner with her.
Alia and Zoya share a close bond as well. “Zoya and Alia get along really well. It’s a matter of accommodating the film, which Alia should be able to manage — given her admiration for Zoya as a filmmaker, which she has often been vocal about,” Spotboye.com quoted a friend of the actress as saying.
This will be the first time Alia and Ranveer appear in a film together. The pair recently shot an advertisement, giving us a sneak peak of how they will fare onscreen
