The counter terrorism department (CTD) of police arrested three terrorists on Tuesday.
“Usman Naeem, Muhammad Umair and Imamdin alias Mavia were arrested from district west, and Kalashnikov and TT pistols were recovered from their possession,” a statement issued by the Sectarian Intelligence Group (SIG) of CTD said on Tuesday.
Usman and Umair were involved in supplying arms to banned outfits while Imamdin distributed hate material for a proscribed organisation, added the statement. All the three terrorists, the CTD said, were associated with banned al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), commander Fahad group. Earlier on January 20, the CTD had claimed to have arrested 11 militants and recovered huge quantity of explosive material, ammunition and hate literature from their possession.
Similarly, on January 4, the LEAs apprehended five members of a banned organisation wanted in several acts of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom.
