LAHORE – A youth was murdered by some unidentified men on his doorstep in Samanabad on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Farrukh son of Mohammad Farooq, resided on the Jehangir Street in Samanabad. Police said that Farrukh worked in a private bus company and was married almost three months ago.
On Thursday, some unidentified men visited his house and asked his mother that they intended to see Farrukh, who, when appeared, was shot at. Farrukh was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said that it could not be established whether he was killed by robbers upon resistance or some other dispute had led to his murder. The police shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy and registered a murder case against unidentified assailants.
BOY MURDERED, DUMPED: An unidentified boy, 14, was found dead in a drain in Sabzazar police precincts on Thursday. The boy was recovered from a drain near Karachi Puli in Dabun Pura. The police have shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy and have registered a murder case, since the police suspects that the boy was killed after kidnapping for ransom or after being sodomized.
A police official said a passerby informed the police about the boy’s body. The police made several appointments to trace the boy’s heirs, but no one showed up, he said. A police investigator said that no report or FIR was registered in the Sabzazar Police Station about the missing boy. He said that the boy was strangulated after torture as he had bruises found on his neck.
He added that the apparent condition of the boy suggested that the boy belonged to a well-off family.
MYSTERIOUS DEATH: A 50-year-old security guard died under mysterious circumstances in Sattukatla police precincts on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Waleed Khan, who served as a security guard in a housing society near Johar Town. Police said that Waleed went unconscious on duty, upon which he was rushed to hospital where he expired.
