Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said government was not in a position to stop Pervez Musharraf from going abroad, following the Supreme Court’s decision.

He expressed these views while talking to members of assembly, newly elected UC chairmen and media persons here at his farm house Saturday.

Rana Tanveer Hussain said that Musharraf surrendered before the courts which he had trampled under his boots.

He refused to comment on Bilawal Bhutto’s statement adding that the PPP chairman is still politically immature. Those who gave Musharraf guard of honour should refrain from criticising the government, he said.

The minister said that Pakistan wants better ties with India for the sake of lasting peace in the region. Pakistani team is leaving for India on March 27 in connection with probe into the Pathankot incident. Modi government will have to play positive role for establishment of peace in the region, he stressed.

Pakistan will further fortify bilateral ties with Iraq for its stability, independence, sovereignty and regional security.  Defence cooperation encompassing training of security officers and exchange of security delegation will also be bolstered with Iraq, he added.
