Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan said on Saturday that Pervez Musharraf’s travel abroad was a ‘surprise’ for those who had claimed they would never compromise on principles.
“Musharraf will not return to Pakistan before 2018,” Manzoor Wassan said while speaking to media.
He said today Pakistan’s judiciary was much stronger, adding that replacement of the Sindh IG had to be made due to the Supreme Court’s observations. Wassan regretted that fabricated cases were being made against the PPP but the party had managed to pull itself out of worse conditions in the past. He warned that steady increase in Sindh’s sense of deprivation could prove dangerous. The PPP leader said that former mayor of Karachi, Mustafa Kamal, would create ‘wonders’ in the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) but not the PPP. He claimed that a boost in trade with India was proving detrimental for the domestic farmers, particularly those of Sindh. When asked about the result of yesterday’s World T20 match between India and Pakistan, he said Pakistan would emerge victorious in the contest.
