Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali is excited to render country’s national anthem before the start of the much-awaited India-Pakistan World Twenty20 cricket tie at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan has got even bigger after classical singer Shafqat Amanat Ali being confirmed to sing Pakistani national anthem ahead of the match.

“I have landed in Kolkata and feeling elated. It s a huge honour for me to be here, for this grand occasion. I am excited to be singing my national anthem at Eden Garden, and all the more excited about performing alongside Amitabh Bachchan. I am really looking forward to it,” Shafqat, who has sung various Bollywood numbers stated.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will sing the Indian national anthem in his deep baritone.
The match between Pakistan and India will be held at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens at 7 pm (PST) today (Saturday).
Green shirts will then take on New Zealand on March 22 and Australia on March 25 in their remaining Group B matches both in Mohali.
The top two teams from each of the two pools will qualify for the semi-finals.
