The Inspectors General Islamabad Police and Motorways Police have started shifting their offices from luxury houses to the Police Lines.
According to Online, the IG Islamabad Police’s office has formally begun shifting its records and other equipment and the transfer would likely be completed in a week’s time.
The report said that a barrack in Police Lines has been allotted to the staff of IG Islamabad Police which had earlier been enjoying a two kanal 22-bed luxurious bungalow in the posh F-7 Sector.
On other hand, office of IG Motorway police has already shifted to H-8 headquarters.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had given two weeks time to the Capital Development Authority and the officials’ concerned to relocate the two offices from residential areas.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed gave the directions while hearing a suo motu case regarding blockades and encroachments in the residential areas of the capital.
A number of offices, beauty parlours, guesthouses and eateries have already been shifted out from the residential areas while the police chiefs had remained defiant to the SC orders. The concerned department, CDA, in this case, had been ordered to lock the offices if they refused to shift.
