At least six died and 15 others injured due to rain related incidents in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a spokesman of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said on Monday.
The torrential rains that continued for three days with intermittent intervals in most parts of KP have killed two persons in Bannu, two in Mardan and one each in Tank and Malakand Agency.
Similarly, four people sustained injuries in Tank, seven in Mardan and two each in Peshawar and Dir Lower. The rain also damaged 33 houses in parts of KP including 15 in Abbottabad, four in Peshawar, one each in Bannu, Swabi, Tank, Malakand, Dir Upper and seven in Mardan.
According to PDMA spokesman, relief activities have been started in the affected areas and PDMA authorities with help of district administration and line agencies are participating in the relief operation.
Meanwhile, the Met Department predicted more rain with thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills at scattered places in upper KP including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan divisions and FATA while at isolated places in Kohat division in the next 24 hours.
Malamjaba received maximum rain of 59 millimetre (mm) followed by Dir 45mm, Cherat 37mm, Balakot 27mm, Risalpur 21mm, Lower Dirmm, Saidu Sharif 20mm,Chitral 16mm, Drosh, Kalam,Kakul 12mm each, Peshawar A/P 10 mm, Peshawar City 8mm, Parachinar10mm, Pattan 9mm, Kohat 05mm respectively.
