Five suspected militants killed in Dera Bugti

Security forces in Balochistan on Sunday claimed to have killed five suspected militants in Dera Bugti district.

A spokesperson for the Frontier Constabulary, Khan Wasey, said that security personnel had launched an operation against suspects involved in targeting security officials and important national installations in the area.

He said five suspected militants were killed in the attack and a sanctuary of miscreants was also destroyed during the operation. A suspected militant was also arrested, added the spokesperson.

Wasey said the dead miscreants were involved in attacks on security forces and vital national installations including gas pipelines in Dera Bugti district.

JAFFAR EXPRESS SAVED FROM DISASTER:

Meanwhile, a Quetta-bound Bugti Express train heading from Lahore was saved from a major disaster as security forces recovered 12-kg explosives planted along the track. Three suspected men were taken into custody.

According to details, terrorists had planted the explosives along Sibi-Quetta track near Nari Bridge. The FC recovered the explosives along with a battery and detonator and defused it.

After the receipt of a tip-off about the bomb, Jaffar Express from Quetta was stopped at Mach station while Bugti Express at Sibi.

Meanwhile, the FC and police arrested five suspects in Bibi Ziarat area of Quetta in a joint search operation on Sunday morning. According to sources, arms and drugs were also recovered from the suspects.
