A delegation of Hindu pilgrims, who had arrived here through Wahga border to celebrate the Shivaratri festival in Chakwal, returned to India on Friday.
Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq, Additional Secretary Shrines Khalid Ali and other board officers saw off the delegation at Wahga border.
Siddiqul Farooq, addressing the delegates, said every religion gave the message of peace and harmony, adding that everyone had the right to practice one’s religion as long as there are no problems for others.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif believed in peaceful co-existence with all neighbours, including India. He said the prime minister also expected his Indian counterpart Naredra Modi to reciprocate the gesture and maintain peaceful environment in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the delegation leader Satish Kumar said they were carrying a message of love and peace from Pakistan and they would spread this message among the people of India after returning to their towns and cities. He also thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq over arrangements made for their visit.
The Hindu pilgrims visited Gurdwara Dera Sahib, historical Katas Raj Mandar in district Chakwal and Krishna mandir to perform their rituals.
