LAHORE – The Tehreek-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz (TNRM) on Tuesday held a protest outside the US Consulate against the desecration of the Holy Quran by Pastor Terry Jones and his accomplice. Seminary students, who were a majority of the protesters, denounced the apathy of the US, federal government and rulers of the Muslim countries over the issue.
They also burned the US flag on the occasion. “By burning the Holy Quran, Terry Jones has attacked the faith of 1.57 billion Muslims across the world. Silence of the US government and Vatican City is an indirect support to the heinous crime.
Even the UN could not drag its feet on the issue,” TNRM president Raza-e-Mustafa said. Adara Sirat-e-Mustaqeem chief Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali said that the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis and the constant sufferings of Dr Aafia Siddiqui clearly indicate the slave mindset of our rulers.
