Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) nominated mayor Waseem Akhtar said on Saturday that Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani were trapped just like Afaq Ahmed, leader of MQM’s breakaway faction – Muhajir Qaumi Movement.

Waseem Akhtar appeared before the court for seeking extension in his bail in a case regarding assisting MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in delivering provocative speech against army, Rangers and government institutions.

He said that former mayor Mustafa Kamal and Qaimkhani would soon realise that they had committed a mistake by returning to Pakistan. He lambasted the two by saying they were neither politicians nor had any importance in politics.

Akhtar said the development done in Karachi was a result of team work. Anyone would have taken steps for development at that time as former president Pervez Musharraf was providing the funds needed, he commented.

Waseem Akhtar is facing cases for providing assistance in alleged provocative speech by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
