PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will start the tour of South Punjab in the third week of March.

The first stop on the tour will be Rahim Yar Khan, the Punjab district that supported PPP in the local government elections. A senior PPP leader told media that the Punjab district is excited about Bilawal visiting amid party workers. He added, “Following the success of party rallies, PPP central Punjab leaders might also invite the chairman to come and address party activists there.”
PPP South Punjab president, Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood confirmed that Bilawal will address workers in a rally at Rahim Yar Khan. He said that Bilawal will stay and meet workers across various districts in South Punjab. He will proceed to Multan and then Bahawalpur.
Makhdoom also said, “We will also arrange meetings between him and district leaders from south Punjab. The notion that the PPP is no longer popular in south Punjab is false. We secured a majority in the LG polls.”
He added that the people gave a clear invitation to PPP in Rahim Yar Khan, yet the provincial government is employing various tactics to prevent the party from succeeding. He said the government had been trying to stall the transfer of power to local governments.
PPP Central Punjab President Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said Bilawal will be invited to visit central Punjab following his south Punjab tour. Bilawal’s tour to central Punjab is not yet confirmed, Manzoor said.
