An agreement regarding construction of Knowledge Park was signed between Lahore Knowledge Company and Usmani & Co. at the office of Lahore Knowledge Park Company, on Monday.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan was also present on the occasion. Chief Executive of Usmani & Co. Asif Usmani and CEO of Lahore Knowledge Park Company Shahid Zaman signed the documents of the agreement.
Talking to the media on the occasion, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that Punjab government is endeavoring for the promotion of knowledge economy through amalgamation of corporate sector and education sector. He said that Lahore Knowledge Park will be constructed on 800 acre land and besides sub-campuses of best universities of the world, offices of business companies of international repute will be set up at Lahore Knowledge Park.
The provincial minister disclosed that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has allocated a huge amount of 21 billion rupees for this project recently. He said that IT University will establish its new campus in Lahore Knowledge Park and a land has been earmarked for this purpose. He said that the secret of resolution of our all problems lies in the promotion of education.
