A high-level meeting is being convened on Tuesday (today) in which actions in Larkana and Sukkur divisions under the National Action Plan (NAP) will be discussed, Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Khan Siyal said on Monday, observing that these actions were very crucial for preserving peace across the province.

The minister, while talking to a group of reporters after attending a ceremony of Third Junior Games at Khuhra Complex here, said IGP Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali and senior Rangers officials would also participate in the meeting. Earlier such meetings were held in Benazirabad, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions, he added.

Siyal said that a progress report of the ongoing operation in Shikarpur against criminals would also be discussed in the meeting, adding that initiation of actions in rural parts of Sindh were important keeping in view the bomb blasts in Shikarpur and Jacobabad.

He claimed that law and order situation was better in entire Sindh, including Karachi, because the provincial government had posted police officers on merit and gave them a free hand. He said he visited Larkana bazaars on Sunday without any protocol for three hours. He said people wanted to eliminate terrorism for which strict security had already been provided to educational institutions.

Siyal further said that Rangers personnel in the past used to take their problems to the IGP Office, but now these problems were being resolved with mutual consultation.
