The Tube got a lot of response from last week’s column on Altaf Hussain’s bio-lesson. Though most of it was to the tune of remarking on how bizarre it was, some respondents who were soft on the MQM were actually doubting the veracity of the video. That the video was dubbed over.
They held this view despite the MQM’s Rehan Hashmi defending the speech on TV. Unless they think the honourable Mr Hashmi was also a planted agent within the party.
In any case, some of the respondents were requesting an encore. Well, there is no way I could will that into happening, so I will return to the classics and plug in a page of his book below. The book, of course, is his Falsafa-e-Muhabbat.
Yes, racy stuff, that. Not entirely untrue either. What it was doing in a political leader’s book, however, one doesn’t really know. But it would certainly read better than the other self-important books written by politicians. One assumes Abida Hussain’s Power Failure didn’t manage to sell a fraction of the copies.
