OK, so Asif Ali Zardari’s statement regarding the army chief’s early announcement not to seek extension has caused quite a kerfuffle in the country. You might have heard of it even if you were, in fact, living under a rock.
With some saying the statement had Rehman Malik’s counsel behind it, and others saying this had Faryal Talpur written all over it, it turns out the truth might be something far less exciting.
Privately, those in the know say it was merely a typographical error. Might sound like a lame excuse, but hey, a lot of the times, the simplest explanation is the correct one!

Civil Society versus the Punjab Government. The daggers are drawn and no stone is being left unturned in the war of arguments.
Well, one of the arguments adopted is that it will also service the traffic to the Miani Sahib graveyard in Lahore. That the residents of the fine city can take their loved ones — of both the living and recently deceased variety — to the graveyard on the line. That’s macabre, black comedy for you!
