Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Monday admitted that the educational goals that were set for the year 2015 by the Sindh government could not be achieved.
Addressing a seminar organised jointly by the Sindh Education Department and UNICEF at a local hotel, the minister said the government was considering providing free food in schools.
He said the matter for updating curriculum remained pending for a long time; therefore “we did not achieve our objectives in the field of education”. He further said they were trying for comprehensive and equitable education until 2030, adding that they were trying to provide food in Sindh’s schools.
Khuhro also said they had decided to achieve the goal of universal and free education by the year 2030.
