The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is expected to reduce by Rs 2-3 per kilogram across the country from next month.

According to sources, the price reduction will take place in the first week of March with the arrival of first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the country from Qatar.

Meanwhile, the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has demanded difference of 30% in the prices of CNG and petrol. CNG stations across Punjab and Sindh will remain open this week.

According to experts, CNG stations will remain open across Punjab during next winter if LNG supply continued interrupted.

Pakistan signed a long-term $16 billion (14 billion euros) deal with Qatar earlier this month, under which the latter will export up to 3.75 million tonnes of LNG to the former annually. This will fulfill around 20 per cent gas requirement of Pakistan. The gas supply is expected to start in March.
