An assistant superintendent of police (ASP) is said to be involved in the smuggling of Iranian oil in the country.
According to an intelligence report, ASP Keamari Bilal Qayyum has been accused of facilitating the smuggling of Iranian oil by receiving bribe. The report also stated that the accused holds the charge of SSP Keamari as well.
On the other hand, DIG South Dr Jamil downplayed the report by stating that the special branch did not follow the correct procedures in their report. He added that the special branch’s report was directly sent to additional inspector general (AIG) Karachi who forwarded it to the Sindh IG.
Crystal clear that nothing can happen without the involvement of Police and custom officer. In Pakistan it's common and most popular saying that it's impossible to import a needle but you can take in an elephant if you have the resources and the right contact.
