National Book Foundation (NBF) has started preparations for mega book festival on 7th National Book Day to be held on April 22.
On the special directives of Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui, NBF has started preparation for organizing various book promotional activities on National Book Day.
In this regard, the foundations senior officials would also brief the advisor to prime minister regarding activities being under consideration including National Book Festival, an official of NBF told APP.
He said that the government declared April 22 as National Book Day and first book festival was held on April 2010. He said that different segments and sessions of literary and cultural aspects would also be held in the book festival.
He said that the activities under consideration including school children’s parade, children’s book anthem, hoisting of book flag, live with legends, the peace conference, Sufi night, kitab kahani, overseas Pakistanis writer corner, book walk, book castle, chaaey khana, model library, braille books, lucky Book draw and book ambassadors conference, etc. Besides the book stalls would also be set up in the festival.
Thousands people from all walks of life likely to attend the National book festival.
The renowned scholars, writers, literary figures, intellectual and artists would also participate in the festival and share insights for promotion of book reading.
