The government’s claims of increasing security of educational institutions of Karachi felt short as the authorities removed the walkthrough gates of Karachi University on Friday despite security threats.

The security measures are insufficient notwithstanding three cracker attacks were made in the largest metropolis of the country on Friday. The administration has complained that the walk-through gates were rented and therefore they have been removed.

They said the gates had been rented from a security company and were becoming unaffordable. The administration also hoped that Karachi University – one of the largest in the city – will soon acquire its own gates soon. Meanwhile, a social welfare organisation has announced to donate four walk-through gates for the university.
