Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed that ongoing development schemes in the province be completed within the stipulated time.
The administrative secretaries should hold review meetings monthly and ensure proper monitoring of uplift schemes of their departments. He was chairing a meeting of administrative secretaries’ committee at Civil Secretaries here on Friday. The meeting discussed in detail matters relating to Annual Development Programme, Citizen Feedback Model and cases of pension and departmental inquiries.
Addressing the meeting, the chief secretary said that several development projects are under way in the province. Timely completion of these projects is priority of the government, he added. He expressed satisfaction over the utilisation of funds by departments. He, however, ordered the departments to make improvement in this regard.
He mentioned that the Citizen Feedback Model is the best source of getting public opinion regarding government institutions. He directed that all possible steps be taken to improve this model, which is helping address people’s complaints.
The chief secretary directed all departments to extend full cooperation to Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission for resolving problems of Pakistanis living abroad. He said that overseas Pakistanis are an asset for the country and their problems should be resolved on priority basis.
A special prayer was also arranged for martyrs of Bacha Khan University and Qutetta attack in the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khwaja, Chairman Planning and Development, Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commissioner, administrative secretaries of different departments and officers concerned attended the meeting.
