Funds released for security arrangements of colleges

The Punjab government has released over Rs10.65 million for district education departments across the province for security arrangements of colleges operating in their respective jurisdictions.

As many as 345 colleges including three in Rawalpindi division have been declared sensitive.

A source in the district education department that divisional directorate of colleges have been told to pass on orders to college administrations to raise boundary walls at least eight feet to ensure security for the students and the staff.

In Rawalpindi division, the Government Commerce College Attock, the Government Girls College Jhelum and the Government Commerce College Jhelum have been declared highly sensitive.
