The situation escalated when police officials came face to face with protesting PIA employees.
PIA protesting employees alleged that police had rounded up and arrested 13 employees of the national flag carrier who were part of the protest strike.
Protesters shouted slogans against the government in resistance and defiance of the arrests allegedly made by police.
