Police have arrested six persons accused of arranging the marriage of a seven-year-old boy and six-year-old girl here.
According to a senior police official, the fathers of both children, the cleric solemnizing the Nikah, and three witnesses were arrested and charged under the Child Marriage Restraint Act on Saturday.
He said the accused had denied that the wedding took place, but the police had evidence on video.
These ill tad customs can only be changed through education and condemnation by civil society .
