Ah, Nisar, the League’s enfant terrible, has dug himself a hole this time as well, and not just the muk-muka statement.
It appears that our interior minister doesn’t really get along with anyone. He reportedly hasn’t spoken to the defence minister in years. With opposition leader Khurshid Shah, he has an old axe to grind. There was a time during this government’s tenure that he wasn’t speaking to even the prime minister.
Shehbaz Sharif is one of his few friends. But there is still more to the Chakri man than meets the eye. He seems to hedge his bets by being in contact with everyone. He is said to have good contacts within the military and also with Imran Khan, with whom he was at Aitchison.

Aleem Khan, much like Jehangir Tareen, is up there on the list of fabulously wealthy PTI politicians who were imported from other parties.
The man has money, yes, but he isn’t shy of flaunting it either. If Tareen has a plane, then Aleem Khan has a security detail that has become the talk of the town.
Seen recently at the funeral at former Lahore Nazim Mian Amer’s home, Aleem Khan’s security detail resembles the Secret Service operatives that move with the US president. Black coats, modern weapons and running on foot with the vehicle containing their boss when it gets slow.
This is how they are when they are not yet in power, someone attending quipped, imagine how much this would be when they are in power.
