A meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee on Law and Order was held at Civil Secretariat to review security arrangements at educational institutes here on Friday. The meeting deliberated on different measures for beefing up security at schools, colleges and universities across the province.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal said that all resources will be provided to ensure foolproof security at educational institutes. He directed that implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding security of educational institutes be ensured in letter and spirit, adding that all relevant departments should play active role in this regard.
During briefing, the meeting was told that the Home Department has issued SOP and educational institutes of A and A-Plus category have been directed to take special measures for improving security.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Special Assistant to CM Rana Maqbool Ahmad, secretaries and officers concerned attended the meeting.
