Motion for discussion against ‘massive corruption’ in Sindh rejected

An adjournment motion to discuss a report of the auditor general of Pakistan regarding massive corruption of billions of rupees in different departments of the provincial government of Sindh was rejected by the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday.

According to details, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Muhammad Hussain Khan tabled the adjournment motion to discuss a report of the auditor general of Pakistan regarding corruption of billions of rupees in different Sindh government departments. The mover wanted to discuss a definite matter of urgent importance that the report of the auditor general of Pakistan had found billions of rupees’ corruption in Sindh government departments during the financial year 2014-15.

However, the treasury benches opposed the adjournment motion and the chair termed it not maintainable and out of order.

There was also a privilege motion 8/2016 given notice by Muhammad Hassain Khan of MQM regarding non-implementation of the resolutions passed by the assembly; however the mover did not press his motion and it was withdrawn.
