Dense fog disrupts air traffic in Islamabad, Peshawar

Dense fog blanketed Islamabad, Peshawar causing air and road traffic disruption.

Flight operations at Benazir Bhutto International Airport have been suspended due to dense fog. The Flight inquiry representative said at least 36 flights have been delayed while eight flights have been suspended. He directed passengers to take information from the flight inquiry office before leaving for the   airport. The dense fog in Islamabad also disrupted road traffic and visibility was recorded very low. The MET department has forecast dense fog with biting cold in Islamabad and Rawalpindi for next three days.

Similarly, dense fog engulfed Peshawar and flights have been delayed at Bacha Khan International Airport.

Flights from Sharjah, Doha, Jeddah and Karachi have been delayed due to dense fog. The foggy condition also disrupted road traffic in Peshawar. A motorway representative said that very low visibility was recorded in Peshawar. The visibility recorded on MI was 40 metres. He directed commuters to avoid unnecessary travelling and keep their fog lights on during their journey.
