Local police claimed to have arrested six brick kiln owners for violating the Child Labour Act here.
According to police officials, the assistant commissioner along with a police team conducted a raid on Qutubpur and Muzaffarabad areas and found six children, Aisha, Amir, Ajmal, Muhammad Aamir, Kishwar, Ajmal and Mitho, working at the brick kilns.
The police arrested Malik Siddiq, Rahmat Ali, Mazhar Hussain, Muhammad Hussain, Murtaza Shah and Ghazanfar Abass and registered cases against them under the Child Labour Act.
Under the law, children below 14 years of age are not allowed to work at kilns. It may be mentioned that the Punjab government is taking strict action against violators of the Child Labour Act across the province.
