The sale of stolen petrol and diesel from CDA vehicles is going-on under the alleged patronage of CDA labour union.

According to sources, certain union members draw petrol from CDA vehicles parked at different locations before selling them at certain points. The generated amount is, according to the source, divided among people part of the gang headed by Bhola, Arif, Butt and Idrees.

According to the source, the police officials at different check posts also have a lion’s share in the business and regularly get their divide.

If a person is arrested by the police while transporting petrol, the CDA union exerts pressure on the police for his release.

Over 68 cases have been registered against members of the mafia for stealing diesel and petrol in the past. Name and visiting cards of CDA labour union general secretary Chaudhry Yasin were being used by the mafia members in case they get in trouble.

When contacted, Yasin said that though gives his visiting cards to several people including the union members, but he never intended them to be used for corruption. He claimed that the issued will be investigated and the culprits will be exposed.
