A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured during firing between two blood-related families in the Banda area of Abbotabad on Monday.
According to police, children of Naseem Khan and Hujoom Khan had a fight over a petty issue.
Naseem Khan wiped out his pistol and opened fire on his brother Hujoom and his sister-in-law, Rafia Bibi. A bullet hit Bibi in the chest and she died on the spot while her husband also sustained a bullet.
The alleged killer and his accomplices including his son Haleem and nephew Naqash fled the scene after the incident.
SHO Mirpur Javed Khan took the body into custody and dispatched the body to the Ayub Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
The police have registered a case against Naseem, Haleem and Naqash on a complaint of Hujoom Khan.
The police have started investigation into the case; however, no arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
