I’ll be there for you… unless I have previous commitments that prevent me from attending the taping of a reunion show.

Fans who were excited to see all six Friends cast members together again during the cast reunion announced this week won’t be getting their wish: There will be a Chandler Bing sized hole on your screens.

“Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Feb. 2 at the Playhouse Theatre,” a rep for Matthew Perry said in a statement. “NBC executives were aware of this prior to their TCA announcement yesterday.”

However, the rep does not rule out the possibility of Perry taping a message for the network’s planned tribute to director James Burrows, which will feature the rest of Friends’ cast as well as the casts of several other classic sitcoms. If that’s not enough for you, Chandler does not want to hear it.

The special will air on NBC February 21.

According to The Daily Mail, Perry discussed the reunion at a taping of The Graham Norton Show.

“”It’s not the reunion everyone is hoping for. They are celebrating Jim Burrows, who was a director of Friends,” Perry told the host. The other five are going to be on this special and I am going to introduce them from London. I’m doing the play here so I can’t be there.”
