The Frontier Corps on Sunday foiled a major terror bid in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district, defusing an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing around 17 kilogrammes.
According to the FC spokesperson, unidentified militants had planted the explosive device along the side of a roadside in Sui area. Khan Wasey further said that security forces acted timely and defused the device, adding the miscreants wanted to target security forces.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested four suspected militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Qilla Saifullah and Pishin districts of Balochistan.
Security sources said three suspected militants were apprehended from Nassai area of Qilla Saifullah in a raid on Karbala village of Pishin district. The arrested suspects have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
Separately, the FC arrested eight suspected militants in raids on parts Zhob district. The operation was conducted on a tip-off. The militants were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
