The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would hold Local Government Elections on 27 reserved seats for women, peasants/workers, technocrat, youth and non-Muslims in Metropolitan Corporation (MC) of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on Saturday.
The newly elected chairmen from 50 union councils of Islamabad will exercise their right of vote.
According to the spokesman of ECP, there would be 17 seats of women, three for peasants or workers, three for youth, three minorities and one technocrat in the second phase of Islamabad MC LG elections.
Polling will be held on January 16 at polling station of IMCB,F-8/4 and time duration is fixed from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
He said that for women seats 12 candidates of PML-N, nine PTI and four independents are in field to contest election while for peasant seats, two candidates of PML-N, three PTI, five Independent.
PML-N fielded three candidates, PTI two and eight Independent candidates are contesting for Youth seats.
Two candidates of PML-N, three PTI and six independent are contesting for the seats of non-Muslim while for technocrat each party and independent have single candidate.
The ECP also appointed Chaudhry Aleem Shahab as District Returning Officer and Farasat Ali Khan as Returning officer for the elections on reserved seats.
