Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Sunday told Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman that any threat to Kingdom’s territorial integrity would evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
According to an ISPR statement, the Saudi minister called on General Raheel Sharif at General Headquarters Sunday afternoon.
Matters related to regional security and defence cooperation came under discussion during the meeting.
The COAS said Pakistan enjoyed close and brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and attached great importance to their security.
He said that Pakistan held its defence ties with KSA in highest esteem and re-asserted that any threat to Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity would evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
Saudi Minister Mohammed said that Saudi Arabia attached great importance to Pakistan and its armed forces and appreciated their successes in fight against terrorism and efforts for regional stability.
He reaffirmed Kingdom’s full support to Pakistan’s position on all matters.
Earlier, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Islamabad to discuss an array of issues with Pakistan’s top civil and military leadership.
