Jami — who’s riding high after the success of his film Moor — is in the US these days to participate in the Palm Springs Festival. And although the talented filmmaker has received immense praise for his movie, he was in for a rude surprise when cops were called on him.
While Jami was discussing a ‘Pak-Afghan story’ (perhaps his next film?) at a cafe in New York when somebody alerted the police after they overheard him.
The director later took to Facebook to share the incident and uploaded a picture of a police officer inspecting their passports. “Someone calls police and four cop shows up thinking we [are] Isis or something,” his post read.
Jami’s friends offered him support and expressed disappointment at the sorry state of affairs in the US.
