Provincial Minister for Education, Muhammad Atif Khan has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government was focusing on enhancing teaching skills of teachers to get required results for the educational reforms initiated by the PTI led government in the province. He added that IT education for the purpose would fully be utilized.
He stated this while holding a meeting with Intel Pakistan Corporation at Peshawar on Wednesday. The meeting beside others was also attended by the Additional Secretary Education Qaiser Alam and Business Development Manager Intel Ahmad Tahir Masood. Intel Corporation on this occasion offered technical support for teachers training which the minister gratefully accepted.
The minister stressed that the teachers were the backbone in education system; therefore, teachers of government schools would be given special training for a brighter future. After training, performance of the teachers would regularly be monitored and those not performing well would be punished accordingly, he added.
Atif Khan said that “Ratta” culture was the source of educational backwardness and there was a dire need to get rid of this system and introduce new trends to enhance the knowledge and creative skills of the students, he said.
He continued that 840 IT labs in government schools would be completed by the end of current academic year and similarly recruitments for it would also be made. He said that newly established IT labs would be supervised online on daily basis and full data of these Labs would be available in the department.
