A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s parliamentary leaders has been summoned in the party’s central secretariat on Friday in a bid to hammer out a strategy for the forthcoming National Assembly session.

All the parliamentary leaders of the party have been asked to ensure their participation in the meeting to be chaired by the party deputy parliamentary leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Sources said that PTI MNA Asad Umar will brief the participants of the consultative meeting pertaining to the recently evolved agreement on an amnesty scheme between the government and the traders, which ended a deadlock over the issue of banking transactions tax between the business community and the Ministry of Finance.

They said that the meeting would be attended by the newly elected MNA Jahangir Khan Tareen, who defeated his rival of Saiddique Baloch, PML-N’s candidate in NA-154 by-poll in Lodhran with unprecedented margin.

They said that Jahangir Tareen will attend the National Assembly to be held on Friday to take oath as a member of the NA and the party’s leaders will accord warm welcome to him on his arrival to the house, who they said fought a hard and long legal and electoral battle to reach there.
