The Islamabad High Court has issued notice to 13 Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials including Member Engineering, Shahid Sohail and Director General (DG) Admin, Ejaz Ahmed in a contempt of court proceedings.
A single-judge bench of Justice Shuakat Aziz Siddiqui summoned these officials on January 13, while hearing Abdur Rehman Vs CDA contempt of court petition.
The court asked the official to appear before the court to present their stance that why not a contempt of court proceeding should be initiated against them.
Abdur Rehman, the employee of CDA and petitioner challenged his departmental suppression stating that while ignoring Rehman, his subordinate had been promoted to foreman.
During the course of proceedings, Arbab Alam Abbasi, counsel for the petitioner apprised the bench that even repeated court orders respondents did not appear before the bench instantly.
Abbasi said that respondents were avoiding from appearing before the court which came under contempt of court proceedings and requested for contempt notices to them.
Justice Saddiqui annoyed and remarked that CDA officials do not step forward without minting money for any service and issued notices to the 13 CDA officials concerned.
