OGRA recommends Rs 2.17 hike in petrol price

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday recommended the petroleum ministry to increase the price of petrol by Rs 2.17 per litre for the month of January.

On the other side, the OGRA has suggested to reduce the prices of other petroleum products. According to the summary, the price of light diesel was suggested to reduce by Rs 5.93, High Octane Rs 4.35 and Kerosene Rs 8.07 per litre.

The summary has been forwarded to the petroleum ministry which would announce the new prices of petroleum prices after consultation with the prime minister. The news price will be effective from January 1, 2016.
