The Lahore High Court was moved against left-arm fast bowler Muhammad Amir’s inclusion in the national team on Monday, a private TV channel reported.
The petition requests the court to review the decision regarding Amir’s inclusion in the team, submitting that the bowler had brought disgrace to the country. A one-judge bench of Justice Shahid Bilal would take up the case for hearing on Tuesday (today).
In 2010, Amir, the then Pakistan Test captain Salman Butt and Asif were charged with accepting money in exchange for arranging deliberate no-balls during a Test match at Lord’s in England. The three players were banned from cricket for five years and were jailed by a British court along with their agent Mazhar Majeed in 2011.
In September this year the International Cricket Council (ICC) lifted the sanctions against the three players.
