Sindh Rangers on Wednesday apprehended five suspected members of the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) from different parts of the province.

The paramilitary force conducted a series of targeted raids on the hideouts of proscribed BLA in different parts of interior Sindh and arrested five suspects.

The targeted raids were conducted after the interior ministry gave a 60-day extension in the special policing powers of Rangers in Sindh on Tuesday in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

The Rangers official termed the arrested men as ‘hard-core terrorists’.

“Arrested suspects were involved in attacks on Army and FC convoys and explosions on gas pipelines,” claimed the Rangers’ official.

The officer said that the security personnel also seized weapons from their custody.

However, the identity of arrested militants has not been disclosed in the Rangers statement.
