National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Wednesday sent the pre-scanned report of irregularities in NA-128 to the election tribunal.

According to the details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s candidate Muhammad Afzal Khokhar won the election from NA-128 with 124,107 votes while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Malik Karamat Khokhar was able to secure 78,369 votes.

Malik Karamat Khokhar accused PML-N of rigging and challenged the results in the election tribunal. Election tribunal sent the votes to NADRA for verification.

After verifications, NADRA sent a pre-scanned report to the tribunal in which it is stated that 21,493 ballot papers were missing from the record. The report says that form-15 of 159 polling stations were missing while form-14 of 151 polling stations could also not be found. The total number of rejected votes from NA-128 is 4,630. The tribunal judge had ordered NADRA to send the report before January 5, 2016 after verification of the votes.
