The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration to set up a new slaughter house in the federal capital An IHC single-member bench headed by Justice Amir Farooq issued the orders after he took up a petition regarding the sale of sub-standard meat in Islamabad. Petitioner Advocate Yasir Mahmood told the court that the sale of sub-standard meat was on the rise. He said that butchers inject water into the meat through injections and officials concerned were not taking any action in this regard. He said sale of sub-standard meat is cause of spreading diseases among the people while ‘Haram’ meat is also sold due to shortage of slaughter houses. The petitioner requested the court to take action against those involved and order to establish new slaughter houses. Upon this, the court ordered to set up a new slaughter house in the federal capital.
