Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been fined AED 5000 by The United Arab Emirates (UAE) immigration authorities, Dubai, for letting a female passenger travel on a male passport.
According to a local media, a female passenger Ms. Siddique (first name withheld) traveled on PIA’s flight PK203 to Dubai on the 16th of December using a British Passport.
The passenger back to Pakistan via the very next flight after it was discovered she had traveled on someone else’s passport.
According to a local media, the British Passport holder accidentally held her son’s passport when she arrived at the Allama Iqbal Airport for her flight to UAE accompanying her husband.
Another feather added to the cap of National Airlines. Not first country to fine PIA. UK and Saudi Arabia had also fined previously. Why NOT get rid of this White Elephant ? Pilots and staff involved in smuggling, delays, cancellations of flights and losses in billions per month. What are the authorities waiting for ?
