Opposition members in the Senate Friday staged a walkout protesting a statement by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan against the Sindh government.

Speaking in the Senate, Mushahidullah Khan subjected Pakistan People’s Party- led provincial government to severe criticism.

“Wifaaq halat-e-jang me hai aur Sindh hukumat halat-e-bhang me hai,” said Mushahidullah, angering the opposition members.

The angry members later walked out of the Senate in protest. At this, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique had to intervene to quell the opposition’s ire.

Senator Mushahidullah apologised and said he withdraws his words, after which the statement was omitted from House proceedings.
